how to open and close a trad in you markets com account

Here, we’re going to go through how to open and close a trade on your markets.com trading app.

Opening a trade

Step 1:

On the home page of the app, use the search bar to locate the asset that you want to trade, then tap it to open the next page.

Step 2:

Input your chosen trade size, and establish that you’re happy with the required margin. Add a ‘stop loss’ or ‘take profits’ figure if you want to at this point.

Step 3:

Then, choose whether you want to go long (the ‘buyer’ option) or short (the ‘seller’) option.

Step 4:

Once you’re happy, press the ‘buy’ button at the bottom of the screen, and this will execute your trade.

You’ll be able to see all of your current open trades by clicking the ‘portfolio’ menu at the bottom centre of the main app screen

Closing your trade

Now, let’s go through how to close a trade:

Step 1:

When you open the portfolio, tap on the trade that you wish to close.

Step 2:

You should see a red ‘X’ appear in the top right of the screen. Tap it.

Step 3:

A new tab should open at the bottom of the screen. Here, you’ve got two options:

  • You can reduce your position size by adjusting the ‘quantity’ tab, and then click the red ‘close’ button. Do this if you want to only close part of the trade.
  • Or, if you want to close the whole trade, you can click the red ‘close’ button straight away, without needing to adjust anything else.

And that’s it. This is how you open and close trades within the markets.com app.
